From the moment you join the PhD Programme, you will be part of the Mathematics Research Institute of the University of Valladolid (IMUVa).
The IMUVa is a University Research Institute, recognised by the Junta de Castilla y León, which brings together almost all the mathematics researchers at the University of Valladolid. It is currently made up of 73 PhD researchers, organised into 15 Research Groups.
The IMUVa Research Groups are recognised by the University of Valladolid and are stable research structures. All of them have funding obtained through competitive participation in the public calls of the National Research Programmes and from the institutional funding that the University of Valladolid itself assigns on a stable basis. As a whole, they carry out research activity with a high degree of internationalisation, based on their active participation in international thematic networks, frequent collaboration with researchers from other research centres, the organisation of events and the co-direction and co-supervision of doctoral theses.
From the moment you join IMUVA, you will be part of the IMUVA Researchers in Training group, an interdisciplinary and very cohesive group that brings together all the Institute's pre-doctoral researchers. IMUVA provides you with a workspace, shared with other doctoral students, adapted to your needs.
Being part of IMUVa will allow you to participate in the numerous activities organised throughout the academic year. From conferences for a non-specialised mathematical public such as the "Ateneo" or "El IMUVa os Habla" to intense research seminars organised by the Research Groups, as well as conferences and mini-courses on new aspects of research in mathematics and its relationship with other areas, both research and transfer. Of course, without forgetting the training activities aimed specifically at your training needs.
